Confitex Incontinence Underwear Hits The Runway

Confitex Incontinence Underwear Hits The Runway

New Zealand Fashion Week took place last week and Confitex, a New Zealand underwear brand, launched its new line of lingerie. An absorbent collection called Hi-Life focused on uncontrollable leaks.

The founders of Confitex have promised its line is not only fashionable but also practical – it deals with urinary incontinence for men and women. Bet you’re picturing bulky, padded granny pants, right? Well, not this line. There is no special padding, and the underwear is sexy and lacy as well as comfortable and practical.

Mark Davey and Frantisek Riha-Scott spent three years researching and developing their lingerie in order to make it look and feel like sexy lingerie yet guarantee it’s successful at doing its job.

Mark explained to the press, “Our consumers refuse to live in a padded world. Why on earth should they? Not everyone wants to feel ‘protected.’ We’ve developed these products for people who love style and design and who want the clothes they’re wearing to express who they are. People who happen to have incontinence should be able to enjoy their lifestyle, freedom and independence. Our goal is to give those that want it the means to get out there, do what they want to do and see who they want to see,”

Co-founder Riha-Scott believes that a badly behaving bladder shouldn’t get in the way of people’s daily affairs:

“Our underwear is beautiful, environmentally responsible and made for people with a love of life and adventure,” she said.

Urinary incontinence is a common health issue worldwide, especially for new mothers and older women. Confitext believes that these women should be able to live their life to its sexiest potential, despite this condition. And we agree that they might just have succeeded, going by these photos.
